Ouch! What’s the difference?

Certain sounds just do not reach some students’ ears and consequently they are unable to produce theses sounds or hear the difference between the words such as “cow” and “car”, for instance; words known as minimal pairs. One of my students was diagnosed with a “cow sound deficiency”, so we focused on being able to correctly pronounce, thereby also hear this sound in real speech. The problem came up through the interview with the tallest man in the world, who talked about the cows he has on his parents’ farm.

This exercise focused on one particular sound pronunciation.

Say the word

Build a wall with “ouch” words

The wall was built by the student so as to recap words from a listening exercise we had done before.
