News videos can be very engaging authentic learning materials if they contain some sort of surprising or emotional element, beside of course being relevant to the students’ interest, and why not to the current season. In winter time, my favourite resource is Canada. There is always something surprising in that very cold country.
This exercise focused on vocabulary building and on listening comprehension.
